The Winter Break Day Camp runs concurrently with the Upper Arlington Schools Winter Break, providing a valuable service for those families in which both parents work. Children can enjoy a variety of activities including arts and crafts, games, quiet recreation, movies, library visits and field trips. Qualified leaders at an approximate ratio of 15:1 staff the program. Participants should bring a packed lunch daily and an afternoon snack. Winter Break Day Camp fees (registration & daily) are non-refundable, non-transferrable and cannot be credited to a household account. Program is subject to cancellation if insufficient participation by December 5th. Select the days you wish to register for below, you must register for each day your child wishes to attend. Register early as camp does reach the maximum!

This developmental league is for girls and boys ages 7-14. It is designed to develop the basic skills of volleyball (passing, setting, serving, blocking, and hitting) and game play. All practices and games will be held on Tuesdays with the first 30 minutes being practice, followed by the game. Every participant will receive a team t-shirt.

Come join UA Parks and Rec in a one day basketball camp featuring top local coaches Tim Casey, Matt Weikert, John Wanke, Matt Biedenbach, Brian Cromwell and Eric Van Cleave. A high level/fun experience catered to helping kids fundamentally understand the game a little bit better than when they walked in door. Participants will get ball handling drills, shooting drills and competitive play. Participants will be split up into age appropriate groups. Please bring a snack, water bottle and basketball.

Have a great time learning the sport of volleyball in the Bally Sports Group Volleyball Program! Throughout the duration of the program, participants will learn a wide variety of skills including passing, setting, blocking, and serving. Older players will also work on spiking. Each week will include modified games that help players learn spacing on the volleyball court, communication with teammates, and moving to the ball. The positive atmosphere makes for a fun learning experience catered to all skill abilities!

Bally Sports Group provides children with a fun and educational first basketball experience! Players are taught the fundamentals of dribbling, shooting, passing, rebounding, defense, and the concept of game play. The curriculum incorporates teaching styles that help this age group build an understanding of the skills that are taught by utilizing fun terminology and engaging activities. A positive and encouraging atmosphere is created in which kids learn proper sportsmanship. Each week players participate in developmentally appropriate instruction and modified, recreational game play.

Learn how to paint a masterpiece just like Bob Ross! Sam leads students step-by-step through the techniques of Bob Ross to complete different 11"x14" canvas panel paintings each class. See schedule below for painting subjects. We use Bob Ross kid’s acrylic paint (not oil paint). All skill levels welcome, including those who have never painted before. Picture a fun-filled workshop where kids transform into fashion citizens and artists! In our two-hour “Sustainable Gift-Wrap Creations,” young crafters learn embroidery and upcycling techniques to create custom, handmade, and uniquely sustainable gift wraps. Through engaging stories and activities, explore how creations can make gift-giving even more special and stay environmentally friendly. Perfect for inspiring creativity and a love for our planet in our future community leaders. All materials included.

Students learn the rules and concepts of chess, tournament procedures and etiquette, and the knowledge to participate in casual or competitive games with friends and family. This is the perfect class for a new player or novice players seeking more confidence in their play. In the first half of each class, student will learn world champion openings, ideas in the middle game, end game patterns, tactical moves, and elements are examined and discussed. Participants play against each other in friendly matches in the second half of each class.

Aktion Club is the only service club for adults with disabilities, with more than 12,000 members worldwide. Club members are service-oriented people from the community who also enjoy working together within a group to make our communities better. Monthly meetings as well as year-rounds service projects are led and scheduled by members of the Aktion Club. Northwest Kiwanis is our local club sponsor with support from Parks and Rec departments of both Upper Arlington and Grandview Heights. If you are looking for additional social opportunities and a way to use your talents to help others in the community, this is the Club for you.

Looking for a class where you and your child can engage in purposeful play while growing their speech, sensory and motor skills? Our class combines the expertise of highly trained speech and occupational therapists with the joys of playtime using obstacle courses, sensory bins, crafts, story-time and fine-motor activities. Our class is sure to be a fun and engaging learning and relationship-building experience for children and their caregivers. We met every child where they are developmentally and can curate our class to you-all abilities welcome!

The Fun Club provides social activities for adults with disabilities. Each session the participants help determine the six activity offerings. All activities occur on Sunday for about three hours in locations around the Columbus area. Participants are then guided through these activities by trained staff with backgrounds in working with people with unique needs. A 6:1 ratio is provided to ensure a safe and fun environment. Individuals must possess independence with toileting and eating, and be able to follow directions and basic rules with little prompting. TR Fun Club provides community-based social activities for adults with developmental disabilities. Activities are designed to promote independence, socialization, and engagement within the community in a safe and fun environment. Participants plan a schedule each quarter and events often occur on Sunday afternoons at locations around the Columbus area. All events are supervised by paid staff. Participants must possess independence with toileting and eating, and be able to follow directions of staff with little prompting. Registration is available for either Full or Half Sessions to Residents and Non-Residents of Upper Arlington. The class focuses on learning more steps, as well as how to lead and follow them with a variety of partners. Other techniques include an introduction to Cuban motion and footwork.
