SUMMER DAY CAMP IS FULL

Children enjoy programmed recreation activities, weekly field trips, arts and crafts, games, quiet recreation, movies, swimming and library visits. Qualified leaders, at an approximate ratio of 12:1, staff the program. Registrants must be completely potty trained, without prompting or receiving reminders, to attend Summer Day Camp. Participants bring a packed lunch daily, water bottle/drink and an afternoon snack. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and is limited. The registration fee is per child and includes admission to the Upper Arlington Pools while with Day Camp and a camp t-shirt. Fees include field trip costs. Camp Locations: Thompson Park North Shelter, Reed Road Park Shelter, Tremont Elementary School Cafeteria. The Tremont Camp moves to the Amelita Mirolo Barn at Sunny 95 Park for the last two weeks of camp. Aging Date: must be 6 by 9/30/24.

We are offering two methods of payment this year.
You can pay fully for camp at time of registration. Or sign up for installment billing. By signing up for installment billing you will link a Credit card to the future installment payments that will come out May through August. You will still need to pay an initial fee as well. PLEASE NOTE: For an Installment bill transaction you will enter in your card number twice, once to link future installment payments and once to process the initial payment. If you do not process the initial payment your spot is not guaranteed in camp.

There will no longer be credit for missed days of Camp.

Therapeutic Recreation Summer Day Camp Sponsored by Northwest Kiwanis, is designed to serve youth ages 7-13 with special needs. This camp is located at Barrington Elementary School and joins the Barrington Day Camp in a variety of activities to promote an inclusive experience while accommodating each camper’s individual needs. Campers enjoy swimming, outdoor recreation, sports, field trips, games, arts and crafts, movies, and leisure time activities. Campers must possess independence in personal care such as toileting, dressing and eating, or be accompanied by their own aide at family expense. Campers must also be able to follow direction of staff with minimal prompting. Youth with behavioral challenges may be asked to have an aide in attendance to promote a successful experience for the camper and all campers in attendance. A sack lunch and snack must be packed daily. The camp is supervised by a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, and camp staff are students within Therapeutic Recreation, special or adapted physical education, or other related sport/leisure studies. Our camper supervision ratio is 3:1. This program is made possible through the generous support of Northwest Kiwanis. Registration is on a first-come, first served basis. We recommend each participant fill out a Recreation Program Modification Form. This form will be emailed to you upon registration and allows our staff to prepare to meet the needs and goals of each camper for the best possible camp experience.

We are offering two registration options this year for our Therapeutic Rec Camp. Full 8-week registration or Daily registration (Minimum 20 days registered).

Pay Per Day enrollment counts are based on the status of the Full 8 Week enrollment counts and will be updated on 2/2/2022 at 5pm.

Full 8 weeks ($1,600|$1800 NR): $400 R|$450 NR due at registration, $400 R|$450 NR due on May 2, June 6, July 5.
Pay Per Day ($900 R | $1000 NR): $450 R|$500 due at registration, $225 R |$250 NR due on May 2, June 6. Additional days available for purchase in 5 day increments ($225 R|$250 NR)
TR CAMP 2024 IS CURRENTLY FULL FOLLOWING OUR FULL 8-WEEK CAMP REGISTATION PERIOD. AS A RESULT, THERE ARE NO CURRENT OPENINGS FOR THE PARTIAL 4-WEEK CAMP EXPERIENCE.

YOU MAY STILL CHOOSE TO ENROLL ON THE WASITLIST. IF A CAMP SLOT SHOULD OPEN WE WILL BE SURE TO REACH OUT TO YOU.

Our Therapeutic Rec Day Camp is designed to serve youth ages 7-13 with special needs. This camp joins one of our traditional day camps to promote an inclusive experience while accommodating each camper's individual needs. Campers enjoy a variety of inclusive and adaptive programs including recreation, pool swims, and field trips along with our traditional campers, as well as small group therapeutic options including guest instructors specializing in Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Animal Assisted Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation and adaptive sports. Campers must possess ability to attend to personal care such as toileting, dressing, eating, and be able to follow general cues and instructions of staff. Campers who require additional 1:1 ongoing assistance with these tasks and campers with behavioral challenges may be asked to have an aide in attendance to promote a successful experience for the camper. A sack lunch and afternoon snack must be packed daily. Our camper supervision ratio is 3:1 utilizing college level students (or higher) within Therapeutic Recreation, Special Education, Intervention Specialist, Adapted PE, or other related health sciences such as PT, OT, SLP.
